Spring Somethings

I think the coming of Christ's kingdom is a bit like things growing in spring, they come silently, just pushing right through the dead stuff. And somehow God even uses the dead stuff for life.

~ ~ ~
and there is e e cummings:

                        Spring is like a perhaps hand
                                               III

Spring is like a perhaps hand

(which comes carefully
out of Nowhere)arranging
a window,into which people look(while
people stare
arranging and changing placing
carefully there a strange
thing and a known thing here)and

changing everything carefully

spring is like a perhaps
Hand in a window
(carefully to
and fro moving New and
Old things,while
people stare carefully
moving a perhaps
fraction of flower here placing
an inch of air there)and

without breaking anything.

~ ~ ~

God is in the business of changing everything carefully, without breaking anything. Isaiah 42:3-4 ~

        a bruised reed He will not break,
            and a faintly burning wick He will not quench;
            He will faithfully bring forth justice.
        He will not grow faint or be discouraged
            till he has established justice in the earth;
            and the coastlands wait for His law.

Spring Brain Virus

Yesterday was nice and sunny and warm. Today is chilly. And I learn another illogical function of my brain. In fact, if my brain were a computer, I'd be running the anti-virus software to see what on earth is going on.

Why would I be surprised that the weather forecast button on my iTouch I kept pressing at lunch to see if the outside temp was improving, I say, why would I be surprised to see that conditions did not change for the better even though I set my hot tea right next to my iTouch?

Rainbows

Finally, March weather is here, just a few weeks late. Be glad, I shall spare you my "Impeach Phil" rant about the little rodent who actually promised us an EARLY spring. But I am not ranting.

Saturday we put away the flannel sheets and got out the summer ones. That is a hopeful sign at our house.

Yesterday we actually had SUNSHINE! Miss Dance and I each caught a rainbow in my kitchen. Aren't they lovely? I am so glad God gives us light and color.
